  Funeral Insurance is not the same as a Funeral Plan. Funeral Insurance works in the same way as a life insurance policy and the full sum insured is paid in the event of death, regardless of the amount of premiums paid. The sum insured is currently 6,750€. The insurer pays the funeral costs from the sum insured and any money remaining following the funeral is paid to the beneficiaries of the Estate of the deceased.
  
  The funeral insurance policy includes telephone legal advice which covers assistance to the direct family members of the policy holder, in order to help to obtain a Death Certificate, process the adjustment in the Family Register and pensions. Etc.
